Cylinder drills are divided into two categories: coring annular cylinder drill bits and non coring annular cylinder drill bits. Depending on the formation being drilled, they are further divided into pick cylinder drills that can be used for drilling weathered bedrock and frozen soil layers, and roller cylinder drills that can be used for drilling hard bedrock.
